Kia ora {{ First name | friend }},

We’re exploring the light and shadow of technology, with a focus on efficient AI workflows to free up your time.

This week’s edition features the launch of ChatGPT Atlas from OpenAI, a prompt for banger ad ideas, and some buzzy insights about actors being replicated by AI video.

Thanks for being here.

OpenAI just dropped a new product called ChatGPT Atlas (more info at the end of this email on the “why” behind it), a browser that merges ChatGPT with Chrome.

Think of it as your AI-powered workspace where you can search, research, and write all in one place.

Here’s a couple basic workflows for how you can use it, assuming you already have it downloaded and installed. Download here.

1) Turn a messy web search into a one-page summary

  1. In Atlas, open 3–5 tabs on your topic (e.g., “Apps for digital sovereignty”).

  2. Click the ChatGPT panel and say: “Read my open tabs and summarise the key points, pros/cons, prices, and add links.”

  3. Ask: “Turn that into a one-page summary with bullet points and a 50-word exec summary.”

  4. Refine: “Highlight the top 3 recommendations and what to do first this week.”

  5. Save/export the brief, then prompt: “Draft a LinkedIn post announcing my takeaways.”

2) Book tickets or fill out a form

  1. Click “Agent Mode”

  2. Prompt to book ticket to an event, whether free or paid. Specify quantity, what ticket option, and your email for registration

  3. Wait for the browser to find the event and fill out what it can.

  4. You may need to add a manual step by entering credit card details etc

  5. Poof! Congratulations, AI just infused a little deeper in your digital experience…

I’ll caveat all of this with a sense that it feels slow and clunky, however the Agent on ChatGPT Atlas is much more efficient and accurate than just Agent on ChatGPT app/website.

Every week we’re inching closer to more and more weirdness.

Prompt: Turn Ad Ideas Branded Bangers

This one is for my digital marketers out there. If you’re using paid ads, this is a great way to turn inspiration to execution quickly using the Ad Recycler process.

Pro Tip: Paste these instructions into a Custom GPT with your brand/audience info to save time each time around.

Here’s the prompt to copy/paste (add your brand info):

You are my Ad Recycler & Test Navigator. If info is missing, make sensible assumptions and list them first.

Primary audience: [AUDIENCE]

Goal & KPI target (e.g., CPA, ROAS, CTR): [GOAL/KPI]

Budget & timeframe: [BUDGET / DATES]

Channels to focus on (e.g., Meta, TikTok, Google, YouTube): [CHANNELS]

Existing assets/links to recycle (posts, ads, landing pages): [ASSETS/LINKS]

Constraints (claims/compliance/brand voice): [CONSTRAINTS]

##TASKS & OUTPUT FORMAT##
QUICK AUDIT (bullets)
What’s reusable, what to ditch, biggest opportunity in 3 lines.

ANGLE MAP (table)
8 angles from existing ideas: Problem-Agitate-Solve, Social Proof, Founder Story, Before/After, Demo, Price/Value, Risk Reversal, Contrarian.
For each: 1 hook + 1 sentence rationale.

CREATIVE BRIEFS (bullets)
5 concepts I can shoot or mock fast (UGC/scripted/b-roll/graphic). Include shot list, on-screen text, and CTA.
Add 3 image concepts and 2 short video scripts (15–30s).

COPY KITS (tables)
Short hooks (max 8 words) × 10.
Captions: 3 short, 3 medium, 2 long (Aus spelling).
Headlines × 8 and CTAs × 6.

7 quick wins tied to the angles (hero, proof, CTA, risk-reversal, FAQs)

TEST PLAN (Meta/TikTok focus; adapt if different)
Structure: 1 campaign → 3 ad sets by audience (Core Interest / Broad+Signal / Warm). Each ad set gets 2–3 creatives (distinct angles).
Budget split (percentages), learning phase expectations, and naming convention.
Decision rules at 24/48/72h: keep/kill/scale thresholds (e.g., CPC, CTR, ATC, CPA).
What to test next if a winner emerges (offer, angle, hook, format).

MEASUREMENT & LOG (bullets)

STYLE
Be concise, practical, and specific. Use Australian English. No fluff.

Output clean markdown with tables and checklists.

Here’s a few interesting technology updates:

  1. Reddit sues Perplexity for allegedly ripping its content to feed AI. Or, more accurately, Reddit is selling your posts to AI companies, and now it’s suing to stop the ones who won’t pay. Read here.

  2. Google revamps AI Studio with new features for vibe coding. They’re positioning it as a new entry point for building AI-powered applications with less friction from prompt to production. Check it out.

  3. Moonshot AI received $10 Million in seed funding to build out their AI-powered platform that turns websites into fully automated, self-optimizing living organisms. Their website capabilites sound very promising. Read the press release.

  4. Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad has been being replicated by AI, leading to more support for the NO FAKES Act, which is pending federal legislation designed to protect performers and the public from unauthorized digital replication. Read more.

  5. Martin Luther King also got replicated by Sora 2, OpenAI’s new video model. His daughter complained to OpenAI and it’s had a big impact. Check out some of the videos in this carousel here.

  6. Family Guy accurately depicted the “agreeable nature” of ChatGPT with this video here. It’s funny, and also on a deeper level, highlights how conveniently ChatGPT is designed to always supports everything you say, and offer the continuous dopamine hits from praise such as “What a great question!” etc.

ChatGPT Atlas is a new web browser from OpenAI with ChatGPT at its core, turning your browser into a super-assistant that understands pages you’re on and helps you finish tasks in place—no copy-paste, no tab-hopping. Your ChatGPT memory is built-in so past chats can inform what you do next. This type of innovation could leave legacy browsers like Google Chrome in the dust.

Browser memories (optional and fully controllable, apparently) let Atlas recall context from sites you visit—e.g., “Find last week’s job postings and summarise trends.” You can view, archive or delete these at any time, and clearing history removes related memories.

Agent mode works with your browsing context to research, automate tasks, and plan or book things while you browse; it’s available today in preview for Plus, Pro and Business.

Launching worldwide on macOS for Free/Plus/Pro/Go, with Business in beta and Enterprise/Edu if enabled; Windows, iOS and Android are coming.

This is important because it’s “a chance to rethink the way we browse” says OpenAI. Atlas moves AI from a sidecar to the driver’s seat - seeing the same page you’re on, finishing the next step, and remembering context so you don’t juggle tabs or copy-paste. If you’re trying to ship work faster with fewer mental switches, this is a practical upgrade to how you search, plan, and organise your day.

Just to add a bit of fuel to the fire, OpenAI just acquired Software Applications Incorporated, the team behind the unreleased Mac automation tool Sky and earlier creators of Workflow (later Apple Shortcuts).

Why do we care? Because Sky’s macOS capabilities into ChatGPT could let the assistant understand your screen and automate desktop apps natively, shifting ChatGPT from helper to hands-on operator.

Expect tighter, cross-app workflows (no scripting required) and a clearer path to true agentic desktop automation. The flip side: permissions, logging, and on-device security will need to be rock-solid.

OpenAI is making moves to become the mac-native AI system, even before Apple has figured it out.

{{ First name | friend }}, it’s just getting more and more crazy out there. Use AI mindfully, being aware of how you give away your data, creative power and sovereignty in the name of efficiency…

If you found this useful, please reply and let me know what you enjoyed, and share this with a mate who you think could benefit from it. :)

Stay human,

Billy
